What I was doing

Running GnuCash 2.6.15 on a MacBook Air (about 5 years old).

OS X Yosemite
Version 10.10.5
MacBook Air (11-inch, Mid 2012)

More hardware details...

Model Name: MacBook Air
  Model Identifier: MacBookAir5,1
  Processor Name: Intel Core i5
  Processor Speed: 1.7 GHz
  Number of Processors: 1
  Total Number of Cores: 2
L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB
  L3 Cache: 3 MB
  Memory: 4 GB
  Boot ROM Version: MBA51.00EF.B05

  SMC Version (system): 2.4f19

Have a GnuCash custom multicolumn report, created in the usual way...

  • Reports
  • Sample & Custom
  • Custom Multicolumn Report
  • Options
  • General tab
    • Report Name: Summary Charts
    • Stylesheet: Easy
    • Number of Columns: 1
  • Contents tab
    • Asset Barchart
    • Liability Barchart
    • Income Piechart
    • Expense Piechart
    • Expense Barchart
  • Each report defaults to
    • Start of accounting period
    • End of accounting period
  • Various changes to make Displays more readable, for example:
    • Plot Width: 800
    • Plot Height: 400
With the change of year, last year's charts could provide some interesting history.

Want to clone the above set of reports, but change the reporting period.

On the General tab for each chart:
  • Start of previous year
  • End of previous year
Attempted to make a new custom multicolumn report by cloning the original custom multicolumn one (to bring in the set of 5 charts).  Can add the existing custom report - and there they are! But when I attempt to modify the reporting period, GunCash has a crash.

One unusual thing I noticed... the original has the expected Edit Options and Single Report links following each of the 5 charts, but the cloned one has an extra (6th) set of those links after the last report.

Maybe what I'm attempting is somehow illegal? Or my machine doesn't have enough memory? Or this is a known (or new) bug?
